Apologies
25 Sep 12:03 am by Mark Kalch Category: Miscellaneous, The Expedition
Howzit all! Just a quick post while we have the means to do so. I want to apologise to our main man, David McDonald for not giving him thanks sooner. David is a freelance web designer who put together our most excellent expedition website. David had to put up with weeks, possibly months of questions and fixes and changes to the site design from Nathan and myself before we gave him some peace and quiet. His ideas and know-how made our site what it is. An unbelievably interactive web experience for both the user and us. We can go into the back-end of the site and add things, take them away, add photos and of course exactly as I am doing now, add posts, from wherever we are on the expedition. Cheers David.
Also an apology to friends and sponsors of the expedition who were waiting with excitement the arrival of the team´s best looking member (no, not Scotty, we will see him in a couple of days!), Miss Holly Tett. Hol´s important work commitments have left her unable to join the expedition as yet. Obviously Hol is disappointed, however she will join us as soon as she can on the river.
Awe.

Well it is Monday morning here and I have just updated myself on your latest adventure. Nonny, you and I are a pair, made from the same cloth. I have never been through the physical challenges you are facing or have ever faced, however we both know I am no stranger to the emotional side. Nonny, from very recent experience let me just say that when you feel like you are in the ‘hole’ look to and lean on your friends. Do not be afraid to have a moment of weakness, becuase it is in those moments that we learn the most and gain the strenght to get through the next challenge. I love you Nonny and am proud that you are following your dream. If you ever feel like you are failing just remember what you have said on this website; it is not about winning or anything else, but about the journey itself, so you have already succeeded. Pull from the strenghtn within and when you have nothing left turn to your friends, and you will always have strength.

Top of the day to you Nathan Heath - hope you are feeling a little better. Thought i better make contact as I had a dream about you last night - THANKS FOR THE VISIT! I was at Connors Fruit World buying oranges when all of a sudden The Angel ran in and told me that you and Sonia Rita were having an affair. You were at the fruit shop and played no part in the dream. Then I woke up - I think there is something in that for all of us? Maybe you should eat more oranges?
Bowie and Kimmie say HI!
As George Michael said “you have got to have faith” - ask the universe for help Welchy. Take care you guys.
ciao Kozza
PS give yourselves a big team hug - then get down low and go go go

I remember from my army parabat days….when you are finished, and I mean finished dead on your feet, cant go another step, and the instructer puts another log on your shoulder to do 10 more kilometres. Its amazing what one can do when you think you cant.
Hang in there guys, one step at a time, and tap into your teamates Kama it will give you unbelievable strength.
Best.

Hi Nathan,
You keep battling away there Nath as we all know that you only enjoy a situation when adversity starts to make a play, all the best for the rest of the journey and keep the photos coming as the landscape you guys are travelling through looks tip top.

Hi Guys!
I guess from now on, at least, it’ll be all downhill, eh! So forget about the AMS and do what you do best - PADDLE!
Reading through everybody’s comments, it might be easy to start thinking of “WE’RE ALL BEHIND YOU”, as a cliche, but as one of countless concerned (and BLOODY PROUD)loved ones, I can assure you, whenever you read that line, or anything in similar vein, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT, COZ WE MEAN IT!
Boet, Da Boyz camped in the tent IN the lounge last night, and Duncan is carving up everything with the knives! They’re dead proud of their uncle too!
SKOP GAT!
