Maiden Voyage

With Mark arriving back in Australia last Friday the team has been flat out with final preparations and media commitments. Stay tuned fMaiden Voyageor some footage on their most recent television interview. Geez that Mark is certainly a charismatic chap, but oh what a media tart!

The raft and customised oar frame embarked upon its maiden voyage in the Pioneer River in Mackay over the weekend. It provided the team an opportunity to fine tune a few areas and have a first hand look at Naths oar frame – is this going to work Nath?

A quick thanks to Schnieds, Frase, Billy, TC and Ange for their support and assistance on the day. The comments from the peanut gallery made the day a humorous one. Thanks guys.

Check out the photo’s of the team putting the ARK raft through its paces.

Peru earthquake

A powerful earthquake has struck Peru’s southern coast, killing hundreds and injuring thousands.  The government has declared a state of emergency for the region.

The towns which took the full force of the earthquake in Peru include Ica, Pisco and Chincha.  These towns lie about 500km NW from where the team is due to begin their trek in under a month.

It’s times like these, with so much sadness and devastation that put into perspective our little jaunt.

If you are so inclined please help out by donating to the NGO of your choosing. Oxfam do good work.

Fine Creations

Hellooo Teva!

Teva sandal.JPG Do I even have to explain? I have, sitting in front of me, a small mountain of Teva shoes, sandals and booties. Adam at Teva HQ has hooked the team up with P-2 booties, Sunkosi water shoes and the sweet Karnali Wraptor sandal.

This footwear will keep the team comfortable and for the most part upright wherever we may be on the river.

If you have any doubt about how much we love Teva, check out this pic. Leave a comment in this post about your dreams and adventures and the team will send you out some sweet Teva stickers. Awe!!

Ever go outside? Get into Teva.
